Review
'The accurate assessment of working memory difficulties and the implementation of appropriate strategies is very pertinent to meeting the learning needs of pupils with special educational needs (SEN). This publication provides practical examples, case studies, tips and pointers to enable practitioners in education to support children and young people to become successful independent learners. Most certainly a worthwhile read for those involved in working with diverse learners' -

Informative but not helpful
By Andrea Lowell
I am a tutor who bought this book hoping it would offer specific interventions for kids with working memory problems/ADD (inattentive type). Even though one might suppose from the title and publisher's info that there are interventions in the book, I felt that the author was basically saying that there is nothing that can be done to help. A much MUCH better book is Milton Dehn's Working Memory and Academic Learning. I haven't finished it yet, but Dr. Dehn offers more hope and help. I'm going to trade this one in for an Amazon gift card!

Working memory
By Mb Brear
Looking for an insightful, informative 'easy read' on the subject of Working Memory, what it is, how it affects the learning disabled and strategies to support? Then this is the book. Thoroughly enjoyable, well laid out pages and organized well - looks at dyslexia, ADHD, Autistic Spectrum, dyscalculia and motor dyspraxia. Enjoyed the research and the 'science flashes'.

I follow the advice for my ADHD child
By Digusted Amazon
This book recommends a software for strengthening working memory in your child. After reading this book I signed my child up for the online program and we are half way through it. I think I see some growth in his ability to remember and follow more directions. I will follow up with another post when he goes back to school and I can get actual tangible results.
