Self-assured in her canine persona, she admits that not everyone is meant to be a dog; after all, the pup explains, people and animals must provide necessary support to their frisky friends. She reasons that people pay dogs the required attention they deserve, cats provide hours of amusement, and birds encourage dogs to dream of flight (though Trixie simply cannot fathom the usefulness of skunks). Initially, many of her examples suit the energetic narrative. Ultimately, however, her random musings result in an awkward presentation when her thoughts turn to her own internal interests and ambitions. The didactic conclusion stunts the lighthearted story. Cleland's watercolor and pen-and-ink spreads lend cheerful color to the vignettes, and Trixie's a lovable pup with her rosy cheeks, large grin, and red bows tucked behind her ears. His New Favorite Bedtime Story

I have always been a fan of Dean Koontz and yet had not seen anything about this children's book. For Christmas a friend of the family's gave the book to my little boy; a 2 year old. It is OUR favorite bed time story now and I am loving every evening with it. Jak loves the "puppies" and says hello to "Wixie" every evening. Thank you to Dean Koontz for channeling your inner child for our children. Please Thank Trixie as well.

Spoil you dog

Trixie is a special dog who is allowed to do many things a capable dog can do, but she dreams of doing more. Just about any adult who has owned a dog can find something to identify with in this 'children's' book. Good for lighthearted laughter and memories of that special dog from back when. The illustrations match the tone of the words. A fun book for adults.

Meat, fish and chicken, often marinated, and soups are emphasized. Great Recipes from Portugal

I gave my daughter-in-law and her sister copies of this book. They are Portuguese but live in Australia. They say it's excellent; the ingredients are reasonably easily obtainable; the book brings back wonderful memories of home cooking when they lived in Portugal; and they can now shares those memories with their Australian families. I'm fortunate to enjoy some of their cooking. Recommended.

I long for the days when I could smell the aroma of my mother cooking her portuguese food in the kitchen. The smell of portuguese food brings back memories of my Parents,Portugal, and Traditional values long gone.Finally I have found a portuguese book in english that rekindled that aroma so well. Buy it, worth the money

If you have struggled with the nuances of the COT report, you will treasure this book. It clearly illustrates the crux of the matter which is price action and the reasons behind it. I would not recommend this for beginners, however. There is a subtlety in evaluating trend shifts and unless you have actually gotten your hands dirty digging into FX and traded for awhile could you appreciate the clarity of Steve Briese's explanations. I have been an active Forex trader for over 5 years and this book I consider to be one of my most valuable on the subject. Forex is not a get rich quick vehicle. There is a steep learning curve as most FX traders will honestly tell you--but this market can be most rewarding for those who spend the time and effort to learn.

Good book

This is a decent book on the committment of traders data (and the only I've read). It provides an overview and the author has dealt with the data for over 20 years so he knows the inns and outs of it. The author has a website, but he doesn't try to hardsell his own newsletter in the book. That is good.

There isn't much information in the book to tell you if the committment data is valualbe in the first place. There are some academic studies (not referenced) that show quite poor results, but there is a problem with academic studies. Only those showing efficient markets tends to get published. If somebody finds a holy-grail he will not publish it. So it is up to you to find out if the committment data can be useful. This book tells you what the data is and how it can be analysed. So don't expect a comprehensive trading system.

I would have loved the author to be more familiar with statistics. He presents a lot of correlation tables and I don't consider them useful. It smells like data mining to me. Still those tables are not at all relevant for the key themes of the book. So not really a problem.

I have written several short reviews on trading books. The best way is to compare the score on the books I've read. Many reviews on amazon.com are just glorious 5 star reviews. I use all five categories; sorry but everything isn't "great". Books rated 5 are very good. Books rated 4 are good solid books well worth reading. Books rated 3 can be bought by some people who read a lot or have very specific needs. Books rated 1 or 2 I would not recommend buying or reading. Naturally all in my humble opinion.

The Bible is OK but I prefer the commentaries in the back.

While I adore watching Jack Van Impe Presents and getting his videos because he is very knowledgeable concerning "end-times" Bible prophecy I guess I was expecting more from this edition of the Bible. This is a traditional King James Version with words of Christ in red. It has prophetic verses highlighted with one or two letters identifying if the verse relates to the first coming of Christ, the second coming of Christ, the last days, Isreal, Millennium, etc. There is no concordence or cross referencing markers like most Bibles. The scripture memorization is a nice feature as is the A-Z index to Bible prophecy, but I have enjoyed the commentaries; 'Daniel: Final Mysteries Unsealed" and "Revelation Revealed", more which can actually be purchased for less then the cost of the Bible. I would like to see the John Hagee Prophecy Bible for comparision.

One note in reference to the reviewer who said the Van Impe's are marketers and say the products are over priced. Yes, it is true you pay more for the item when you purchase directly from them, but when you get a receipt you'll notice they have a fair-market value and a donation value, which is usually the higher amount for tax deduction purposes. Their ministry is operated entirely on the sales of products and donations. Do not be deceived by those who think ministers should suffer the entire cost of their work from their own pockets, there whould be no minisries out there if they did because all the preachers whould be working for other people and to busy to do the work of God.
